[076] A Letter to Someone Who Changed My Life

I honestly don't even remember your name? You're an old, rotund gentleman with a deep, bellowing voice who wore shorts all the time and delivered a four-hour lecture completely from memory, no notes, no references - nothing. And you are amazing. I took the class mainly because otherwise I'd have to take two separate classes for the price of one category, and I figured "Eh, a four-hour lecture on a Friday afternoon can't be that bad." And I was right!

I'm glad you had the breaks, trust me, I needed them. But every second you spoke I was enraptured. Up until your class I'd had my heart set on going into library science, working with books and quiet, and to be honest, that's still my ultimate goal. But you helped me fall in love with politics. Not the politicking - trust me, I have no desire whatsoever to become a politician. But the process and the theory of politics, the science... I've always found politics to be fascinating, and have spent the better part of my life tinkering with various different forms of governments for dozens of stories I want to write, but I never thought about truly studying politics, doing it for my career. I'm honestly still not entirely sure what I would do with a degree in politics? But I'm going to try, and I'm going to master it, and I can't thank you enough for pointing me in that direction.
